35+ years of experience as International Development Advisor:

• Senior Expert in sustainable agriculture and participatory rural extension methods with a strong background in programme development, implementation and monitoring & evaluation.
• Extensive experience in the formulation, evaluation and in the management of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Farmer Field School (FFS) projects.
• Hands-on experience with gender strategy development and mainstreaming
• Assistance in the introduction and expansion of the FFS approach in several countries.
• Long-term experience in human resource management, capacity building and staff training and coaching.
• Introduced a range of innovative concepts and approaches in the projects under my responsibility.
• Intensive involvement in participatory training- and facilitation methodologies, and the development and empowerment of farmer organisations.
• Development of training curricula and training materials for FFS trainers and facilitators.      
• Long-term and short-term assignments for the Dutch (DGIS), Danish (DANIDA), Belgian (BTC) and Luxembourg(LuxDev) governments and for the FAO.

• Expert in community development and participatory extension methods with a strong background in program development, adult education and training.   
• Extensive experience in development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Farmer Field School (FFS).
• Initiator and developer of the Farmer Life School (FLS) concept: integrating HIV/AIDS and health education into the FFS training approach.
• Facilitator in Training of Trainers courses in FFS approach, participatory monitoring and evaluation and gender awareness and mainstreaming.
• Development of training curricula and training material for FFS/FLS and community health projects.
• Experience in Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA).
• Advice government and NGOs on integrating participatory learning methods into their ongoing activities.
• Coordinated establishment of local farmer groups and learning center, creating local farmer networks for knowledge sharing.
• Assistance in the development and implementation of the Kid FFS in rural schools.
• Long-term assignments for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO-UN) and short-term assignments for Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Centre (CATIE) and Health[e]Foundation.
